When you imagine your birth or the postpartum period, what do you picture? How does it feel? Are you nervous, overwhelmed, or lonely? Do you wish you had known more of what to expect? You don’t have to feel this way. Having a doula through your childbirth journey can help you find the confidence and strength to be the best version of yourself as a mother.
A doula is a companion or support person who walks this path with you. We help you find resources and information to make informed decisions and support you as you decide how you will birth and parent. Doulas are not medical professionals and do not perform any clinical or medical tasks. Instead, we hold your hand, comfort you, and help you (and your partner!) through the birth and postpartum time.
Having a doula can:
- decrease your risk of a cesarean birth
- result in a faster labor
- increase your satisfaction with your birth experience
- Improve your likelihood of breastfeeding success
- And much more!
